How to Choose a Listing Agent for a $2M+ Eastside Home

Compare the plan, not just the presentation

For a $2M+ home in Bellevue, Redmond or Sammamish, choose a listing agent by comparing evidence relevant to your property and a clear plan for the work ahead. A luxury label alone does not explain how an agent will price, present or manage your sale.

I am Chandra Kaladhar Vennapusa with eXp Realty. These are questions to bring to a listing consultation, including one with me. They are not a ranking of agents or a promise of a particular result.

Ask for relevant examples

Ask which completed listings the agent personally handled that resemble your home's price range, location, property type and condition. Separate the agent's role from team or brokerage totals. When an example is not directly comparable, ask what can and cannot be learned from it.

References should be shared with client permission. A review can describe someone's experience without proving how your own sale will turn out.

Bring the same questions to each interview

  • Which comparable properties support the proposed price, and what differences matter?

  • Which preparation and marketing activities are proposed, who pays for them, and what requires my approval?

  • Who is my day-to-day contact, and who handles showings, feedback and offer discussions?

  • How will we review buyer response, and when would we reconsider the plan?

  • What alternatives will you explain if timing, privacy or another purchase affects my choices?

NAR's seller-agent interview guide also addresses services, local knowledge, pricing, preparation and references. Use it as a conversation starter, not an endorsement of any particular agent.

Read the proposed agreement

Compare the written service scope, duration, compensation and any termination provisions before signing. Ask how additional costs would be approved. Agent compensation is negotiable; do not assume every proposal includes the same work. NAR's listing-agreement guide explains the general agreement framework. Ask the broker or an attorney about provisions you do not understand.

Use the property, not the city name alone

Bring your home's records, known condition questions, preferred move window and privacy needs. Ask the agent to explain how the proposed plan responds to those facts. Broad Eastside experience is useful context, but it is not a substitute for a property-specific discussion.

Continue with the guides to pricing a $2M+ Eastside home, marketing questions and sale timing. The seller planning checklist can help organize your first meeting.

Does the highest suggested price make an agent the best choice?

Not by itself. Ask for the supporting comparisons, the assumptions behind them and the proposed response if the market does not support that price. Compare the reasoning alongside the service plan.

How can I discuss my own home?

Contact Chandra with your location, property type and preferred timeline. We can discuss what needs to be verified before agreeing on a selling plan. This is general planning information, not legal advice or a current market valuation.
